Anne Lilly was born in Oklahoma in 1966. She studied engineering and architecture, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in architecture from Virginia Tech, with awards for excellence from the AIA and the Virginia Masonry Institute.  She practiced architecture in the US and Europe before beginning her work as a sculptor in 1997.

Lilly has shown in solo and group exhibitions across the US, and her work is included in numerous private and corporate collections. The Boston Globe named her 2003 exhibition with photographer Don Eyles one of the ten best exhibits of the year.  Through a competitive process in 2005 she was awarded a commission for a public artwork on the Boston Harbor to be realized in 2008.  For three years she has worked with the DeCordova Museum to present an annual institute for teachers using kinetic sculpture to link the instruction of art and science.

Lilly will be included in the DeCordova Museum’s 2007 Annual Exhibition. She is represented by Arden Gallery, Boston.
